MI2 Welcomes Laura Haury as Sustainability Project Coordinator

Please join us in welcoming Laura Haury to the MI2 team as Sustainability Project Coordinator.

Laura is an Environmental Engineer with more than 35 years of manufacturing and consulting experience and a lifelong passion for protecting our environment. Based in Kentucky, she brings deep expertise in aluminum recycling from her career at Logan Aluminum, an MI2 founding member. At Logan Aluminum, she most recently served as Senior Environmental Engineer before retiring after more than 18 years of environmental leadership.

Throughout her career, Laura led environmental compliance efforts supporting manufacturing operations through three major facility expansions, with a deep focus on water quality, waste management, recycling, and sustainability initiatives. She has also been instrumental in advancing recycling efforts across the state, including playing a key role in the success of The Recycling Society’s Million Can Recycling Contest.

In addition to joining MI2, Laura has also been appointed to The Recycling Society Board, further strengthening the connection between industry leadership, environmental education, and community-based recycling initiatives.

In her new role with MI2, Laura will focus on advancing aluminum recycling efforts, environmental education, and community outreach. In partnership with The Recycling Society’s Million Can Contest, her work will center on raising awareness about the importance of aluminum recycling and developing school- and community-based programs designed to increase recycling rates across Kentucky and beyond.

Laura’s experience, technical expertise, and passion for sustainability will play a key role in advancing MI2’s mission to strengthen the metals industry while supporting responsible growth and environmental stewardship.
